Senior Manager – Maintenance (Engine Factory)

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of control systems across Assembly, Machine Shop, and Robotic Lines by achieving targeted MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) & MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure).

• Hands-on expertise in CNC, SPM, Robotics, AMR/AGV, PLCs, and Machining Centers.
• Drive TPM, Industry 4.0, IoT, and ANDON initiatives for operational excellence.
• Ensure effective spare management, team capability development, and maintenance KPI improvement.
• Lead SQPDCME improvement projects through Capex/Revenue initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, cost, and equipment availability.
• Ensure strict safety compliance and build a strong safety culture across the team.

Job Responsibility

• Provision of Safe Working Conditions by implementation of applicable safety standards.
• Perform Safety Observation rounds every week for a period of 1 hour, identify the unsafe conditions & acts. Log-in the data in the system. Also identify hazardous and near-miss situations in the Shop on daily basis. Analyze and identify the root cause. Implement measures to eliminate them.
• Knowledge of safety standards is essential
• Control system maintenance of Engine Factory assembly and machine shop.
• Maintenance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of control systems of Engine assembly and machining lines.
• Ensuring Preventive maintenance of machines and equipment
• Ensuring Condition based monitoring of the machines and equipment’s
• Up keeping of maintenance documentations, analysis and improvement
• Contingency planning of machines and equipment’s
• Ensuring availability of spares of equipment’s in case of failure
• Ensuring availability of technical support
• Ensuring availability of SOP and SMPs of all critical maintenance processes.
• Optimization and standardization of spares to reduce maintenance cost
• Implementation of Projects in line with SQPDCME
• Implementation of projects to improve quality, productivity, availability etc.
• Introduction of new technology to enhance above parameters
• Obsolescence management of control systems
• Capex project planning and implementation
• Driving company initiatives i.e TQM, WCQ
• Involvement of different plant level initiatives and projects
• Participation of different CFTs to ensure resolution of complex issues.
• Driving division and department level initiatives
• Human Resource Management
• Review team’s performance and guide them for improvement
• Mentor the My Teams. Guide them on various issues pertaining to SQDCME.
• Team development as per technology requirement.
• Implementation of ISO 50001 and IMS standard.
• Implementation of Industry 4.0 projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education Qualifications: Degree in Engineering (Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical)
• Work Experience: 8 to 10 years in Maintenance of Machine shop and Robotic lines
• Preferred Industry: Automobile Industry / Machine tool building industry
