Senior COBOL / DB2 Full Stack SDET
Role: Senior COBOL / DB2 SDET / Full Stack Test Automation Engineer
Location: Hyderabad / Chennai
Experience: 6-10 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL / DB2 SDET with strong automation and healthcare payer experience to support testing of critical mainframe and distributed applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise across mainframe technologies, DB2 databases, APIs, batch systems, and test automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and execute test strategies for complex mainframe and distributed applications.
• Validate COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, IMS, and batch processing workflows.
• Develop automation frameworks for API, database, and integration testing.
• Validate end-to-end business processes across mainframe and modernized applications.
• Perform data reconciliation and database validation across multiple platforms.
• Test inbound and outbound interfaces, file transfers, and EDI transactions.
• Support release testing, production validation, and defect triage activities.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, architects, and product teams.
• Participate in automation initiatives to improve quality and testing efficiency.
• Develop test data management and validation solutions for large-scale systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mainframe Technologies
• Strong experience with:
o COBOL
o DB2
o JCL
o CICS
o VSAM
o IMS (preferred)
Testing & Automation
• Experience in automation of APIs, databases, and integration layers.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks.
• Experience with:
o Selenium
o Rest Assured
o Cucumber BDD
o Postman
o Service Virtualization tools
Database & Data Validation
• Advanced DB2 SQL skills.
• Data migration and reconciliation testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis and validation techniques.
Integration & Messaging
• Experience with:
o MQ Series / IBM MQ
o Kafka (preferred)
o File-based integrations
o Batch processing systems
Performance & DevOps
• Experience with:
o JMeter
o Jenkins
o Git
o CI/CD pipelines
o Test Management tools
Agile Delivery
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare Payer Experience
Experience in one or more of the following:
• Claims Processing
• Membership & Enrollment
• Benefits Configuration
• Provider Management

• Pharmacy Benefits
