Ground Reality

Know what a job description really says, in a minute

Job posts bury the things that decide whether a role fits you: on-call, office days, the notice period, the real scope. Ground Reality reads the whole post and brings those to the top, in five short blocks, on every verified job you open.

How it works

How a 1,180-word post becomes a one-minute read

  1. It strips the boilerplate

About-us paragraphs, benefits lists and equal-opportunity text go first, including the blocks a company repeats on every post.

  2. It reads the rest against the job card

It knows what the card already shows you, like the title and city, so it only surfaces what the card does not.

  3. It pulls up what is easy to miss

Conditions buried in the prose, or implied by two parts of the post read together: on-call, office days, a lead role in all but title.

  4. It sorts the rest into short blocks

The job in short, how they describe the team, what is different about the role, and when you would need to join.

Read for how hiring works in India

The notice period decides whether you can take a role at all, so Ground Reality reads it exactly: the most days the company will wait, and the post's own words for it. Office days and on-call get the same treatment, wherever in the post they hide.

How to read a job description yourself

When you read a post without Ground Reality, read it in this order:

  • Read the conditions before the requirements: location, office days, on-call, notice period. One of them can rule the role out before skills matter.
  • Split the must-haves from the nice-to-haves. “A strong plus” is not a requirement.
  • Look for scope in the details. “Review designs for a team of six” describes a lead role, whatever the title says.
  • Note what the team is changing. A migration in progress is different work from maintaining a stable system.

Questions people ask

How do I analyse a job description?
Read the conditions first (location, office days, on-call, notice period), then separate the must-have requirements from the nice-to-haves, then look for the real scope in the details, such as team size or a migration in progress. Ground Reality does this for every verified job on ASAI and shows the result in five short blocks.
What is the notice period in a job description?
It is the most time the company will wait for you to join after you accept, usually stated in days, for example “immediate joiners or a notice period of 30 days or less”. Ground Reality shows the maximum days and the post's exact phrase.
What does Ground Reality show?
Five blocks: what is easy to miss, the job in short, how they describe the team, what is different about the role, and the joining terms, including the notice period.
Is Ground Reality free?
Ground Reality comes with the 60-Day Pass and works on every job. With a free account you see which sections it would cover for a job and how long the full post is.
Do I need to paste the job description?
No. Ground Reality runs on every verified job on ASAI. Open a job and switch to the Ground Reality tab.
