All about the role
As Performance Engineer, you will report directly to the Platform Engineering and SRE Engineering Manager.
The Performance Engineer will be part of our Cloud Native organization, will work closely with our Product teams in eCommerce, Digital Marketing and other Consumer solutions and be involved in the full Software Lifecycle. We already have a solid, modern Engineering foundation and want to continuously improve in a dynamic, iterative manner.
You'll own how we prove that our consumer platforms perform at scale: from understanding how customers really use our systems, through designing realistic load and performance tests, to finding bottlenecks and seeing the fixes through. This is both a creative and a detail-oriented role in a very multicultural environment. We want you to be bursting with opinions and passionate about sharing, as well as executing them in a collaborative way.
About the CDI Experience Organization
The Consumer Direct Interaction Experience Organization is a Digital Product Organization responsible for delivering tech solutions to our end-users and consumers across both pre-purchase and post-purchase journeys. We are organized in 15+ digital product areas, providing solutions ranging from Contact Center, E-commerce, Marketing, and Identity to AI.
At CDI XO, Electrolux Group's Consumer Direct Interaction Organization, we are transforming everyday life through digital innovation.
Our engineers help design and build solutions, big and small, to enable a range of highly connected Consumer Market solutions in a modern distributed landscape. Our new team members will be working at the cutting edge of Cloud Native technology and patterns. We strive to develop, build, deploy and run intelligently.
What you'll do
• Gather and analyse performance requirements and architectural dependencies with product teams, architects and business stakeholders.
• Build workload models from production evidence (observability data, gateway logs, real user monitoring) so that tests reflect how customers actually use our platforms.
• Design, develop, execute and monitor the full range of performance tests: load, stress, soak, spike and scalability, at both API and client side.
• Create and maintain performance testing frameworks, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines so performance is checked continuously, not just before a release.
• Automate manual and repetitive performance testing activities, and treat test scripts, configuration and dashboards as code (no point and click).
• Analyse application, infrastructure and database performance issues, find complex bottlenecks, and drive tuning initiatives through to completion.
Work across a stack that includes:
• Observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, and Azure Monitor.
• Enterprise SaaS and PaaS systems in the eCommerce, Finance and Logistics arenas.
• Cloud-native architectures on Microsoft Azure, including Kubernetes and microservices.
• Build performance dashboards, prepare reports and give clear, evidence-based updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage test environments and test data, and make the gaps between test and production environments visible.
• Work with SRE colleagues to tie performance targets to SLOs and SLIs, and use test results to protect Error Budgets.
• Identify risks and issues early, and give actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps teams and business stakeholders to choose the right design solutions and make sure performance objectives are met.
• Mentor engineers in performance engineering practices, and stay current with tools and industry trends.
But…the most important thing is that you are genuinely passionate about performance engineering and continuous improvement.
Who are you
• 5 to 8 years of experience in performance testing and engineering.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with BlazeMeter.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting with Java, Python and/or JavaScript.
• Strong experience automating performance testing, with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Good knowledge of SQL and databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with client-side performance testing and performance monitoring dashboards.
• Proven ability to identify complex performance bottlenecks and give optimisation recommendations.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including requirement gathering, stakeholder management and sprint-based delivery.
• Experience working with customers to understand deployment architectures and use cases.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills; self-driven, flexible and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer Science/Software Engineering related degree.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
