Senior QA Engineer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create effective test strategies.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Perform Manual Testing including Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity, UAT, and Exploratory Testing.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
• Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks using TestNG/JUnit and Page Object Model (POM).
• Execute automated test suites and analyze test execution reports.
• Perform API testing using Postman and Rest Assured.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as JIRA or similar defect management systems.
• Validate database operations using SQL queries where required.
• Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to ensure product quality throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives in Agile environments.
• Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and support production issue validation.
• Review automation scripts and test cases prepared by junior team members.
• Mentor and guide QA Engineers in testing methodologies, automation best practices, and quality standards.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase testing efficiency and product quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Strong expertise in Manual Testing and Software Testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java.
• Strong knowledge of TestNG or JUnit frameworks.
• Experience with Page Object Model (POM) and automation framework design.
• Good understanding of Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Experience in API Testing using Postman and Rest Assured.
• Good knowledge of SQL for database testing and data validation.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.

Good to Have

• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience with Performance Testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Exposure to Mobile Automation using Appium.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based testing environments.
• Knowledge of security testing concepts and modern QA best practices.
• ISTQB Certification is an added advantage.
