Role Overview:

The Mobile App Lead will be responsible for driving the mobile application strategy and execution for HIMS digital transformation initiatives. The role requires strong technical leadership, product thinking, team management capabilities, and healthcare workflow understanding. The ideal candidate should have expertise in building enterprise-grade Android/iOS applications integrated with backend APIs, real-time systems, analytics, AI capabilities, and healthcare compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Platform Leadership

Define and execute the mobile application roadmap aligned with HIMS digitalisation goals.
Lead architecture decisions for scalable and maintainable mobile platforms.
Build reusable mobile frameworks, SDKs, and UI component libraries.
Ensure mobile applications support enterprise-scale hospital operations.
Drive adoption of modern mobile engineering practices and DevOps.

Product & Digitalisation Execution

Digitize critical hospital workflows including:
Collaborate with Product Managers, Clinical Teams, QA, DevOps, and Architects.
Translate operational hospital challenges into mobile-first digital solutions.

Technical Architecture & Engineering

Design secure, scalable, API-driven mobile applications.
Implement offline-first and low-connectivity healthcare workflows.
Integrate mobile applications with:
HIMS backend systems
IoT and medical devices
Notification systems
Video consultation platforms
Payment gateways
Identity and access management systems
Ensure secure authentication and role-based access controls.
Optimize app performance, battery efficiency, responsiveness, and scalability.
Implement observability, crash analytics, monitoring, and mobile telemetry.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor mobile application developers.
Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews.
Define coding standards, security standards, and development processes.
Drive Agile sprint execution and delivery predictability.
Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on quality and ownership.

Quality, Security & Compliance

Ensure HIPAA, NDHM/ABDM, and healthcare data security compliance.
Implement mobile application security best practices.
Drive automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance.
Ensure high application availability and reliability.
Define KPIs for app stability, adoption, and operational efficiency.

Required Technical Skills Mobile Technologies

Mandatory strong expertise in Flutter for enterprise-grade mobile application development.
Strong hands-on experience in Dart programming language.
Experience developing scalable cross-platform mobile applications for Android and iOS.
Good understanding of native Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift) ecosystems.
Strong expertise in state management frameworks, offline synchronization, push notifications, and mobile performance optimization.
Experience with enterprise mobile architecture patterns.
Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles.
Experience handling large-scale production mobile applications with high user concurrency.

Backend & Integration Knowledge

Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and event-driven systems.
Experience integrating with microservices architectures.
Understanding of API security, OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and IAM.
Familiarity with cloud-native systems and containerized environments. Cloud & DevOps
Understanding of GCP / AWS / Azure.
Mobile CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, App Distribution, and analytics platforms.

Databases & Data Handling

Understanding of offline synchronization mechanisms.
Experience with SQLite, Realm, IndexedDB, or local caching frameworks.
Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards is preferred.

Engineering Excellence

Strong understanding of:
Scalable system design
Secure coding practices
Mobile performance optimization
Design patterns
Automated testing frameworks
App store release management

Preferred Domain Experience

Healthcare / HealthTech / HIMS domain knowledge will be considered an added advantage.
Understanding of hospital workflows, EMR/EHR systems, and healthcare operations is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience building operational workflow-driven mobile applications at scale is highly valued.
