Principal Architect, ML Engineering

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to provide technical leadership for a strategic analytics and AI-driven platform within Icertis. This role is responsible for defining the long-term architecture vision, designing scalable enterprise applications, and driving key technical initiatives across the product portfolio. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in application architecture with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work directly with customers, engineering teams, and leadership to address complex business and technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term technical architecture and roadmap for enterprise-scale applications.
• Design scalable, secure, high-performing, and maintainable solutions using modern architecture principles.
• Provide architectural leadership across technologies including .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Python, React.
• Lead key product initiatives from architecture through execution and delivery.
• Partner with customers and stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in customer discussions and escalation calls, providing technical leadership and architectural guidance.
• Review application and system designs, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and best practices.
• Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical mentorship.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to improve product quality, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Champion the adoption of AI technologies and identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and cost optimization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments that support business objectives.
• Provide final architectural oversight for major product enhancements and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, application architecture, or enterprise product development.
• Strong expertise in the Microsoft technology stack, including .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, Entity Framework, and microservices-based application development.
• Hands-on experience with Python and modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• Proven experience designing and architecting large-scale, cloud-native, enterprise SaaS applications.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, REST APIs, system integration, multi-tenant SaaS architecture, scalability, availability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and associated cloud-native services.
• Strong knowledge of databases and data platforms, including SQL Server, NoSQL databases, caching technologies, and data processing frameworks.
• Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies, Generative AI, and analytics-driven solutions in enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and make sound architectural decisions across multiple teams and products.
• Experience leading architecture reviews, defining engineering standards, and mentoring senior engineers and architects.
• Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to engage directly with enterprise clients and manage critical technical escalations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to balance strategic technology vision with hands-on technical leadership and execution.
