## Job Summary
Clovertex is seeking a highly motivated Sr. HPC Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and optimize High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments supporting AI, Scientific Computing, and engineering workloads. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux administration, AWS-based HPC infrastructure, workload schedulers, and production support.
This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud-native HPC platforms for customers in Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Pharmaceutical industries.
## Key Responsibilities
* Deploy, administer, and support AWS-based HPC infrastructure.
* Configure, manage, and troubleshoot HPC workload schedulers such as SLURM and PBS.
* Perform Linux system administration, monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning.
* Provide L2/L3 production support for HPC environments and scientific applications.
* Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, storage, and application performance issues.
* Monitor cluster health, capacity, and system availability.
* Collaborate with cloud, DevOps, and application teams to improve platform reliability and scalability.
* Automate operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code and scripting wherever applicable.
* Maintain operational documentation and follow standard support processes.
* Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
## Required Skills
* 5+ years of experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC).
* Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services.
* Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
* Experience with SLURM and/or PBS workload schedulers.
* Experience supporting HPC operations, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
* Understanding of compute, networking, storage, and distributed systems.
* Experience providing L2/L3 production support.
* Good scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or Shell scripting).
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
## Preferred Skills
* Multi-Cloud Experience especially Google Cloud Platform.
* Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
* Exposure to containers and Kubernetes.
* Experience supporting scientific, engineering, AI/ML, or Life Sciences workloads.
* Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
