Sr. Java Developer

• Design, develop, and maintain features for a credit decision engine powering an enterprise fintech credit card platform.
• Analyse business requirements and decompose them into well-defined, manageable development tasks.
• Design and implement robust, maintainable, and scalable software solutions using engineering best practices.
• Write comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Prepare technical design documents, implementation proposals, and other documentation required to communicate and validate solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and deliver business value.
• Use AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining complete ownership of the code, design decisions, and delivered solution.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Maven, with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design principles.
• Strong experience developing and consuming GraphQL APIs, including understanding of schemas, queries, mutations, resolvers, and API design considerations.
• Good working knowledge of AWS services and cloud-based application development, with an understanding of designing, deploying, and operating applications in an AWS environment.
• Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end software solutions, from understanding requirements through implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous requirements into clear questions, technical decisions, and actionable development tasks.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with clear and concise communication and a commitment to delivering high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable software.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with a Business Rules Engine.
• Hands-on experience with Drools Rule Engine is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of Apache Pekko and the Actor Model is desirable.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience working on fintech, banking, lending, credit cards, or other financial-domain applications is an advantage.
