Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, automation, DevSecOps/SecOps, and observability to build and operate highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient platforms for our products.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing and implementing production-grade cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms, with a strong understanding of DevSecOps, cloud security, SRE principles, reliability engineering, automation, and security operations.
This role will work closely with Engineering, QA, Product, Security, Architecture, and client teams to enable fast and reliable software delivery while maintaining the security, availability, performance, and compliance requirements expected in a product development environment.
The role will also involve client implementations, technical solutioning, environment setup, deployment planning, production rollouts, troubleshooting, and technical discussions with client engineering and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Design and manage production-grade Azure infrastructure with focus on scalability, availability, security, and performance.
- Build and operate AKS/Kubernetes platforms, including deployments, scaling, networking, ingress, RBAC, secrets, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Bicep and create reusable infrastructure modules and deployment patterns.
- Automate operational and engineering workflows using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
DevSecOps & SecOps
- Implement and continuously improve DevSecOps and SecOps practices across the software development and deployment lifecycle.
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, container image scanning, secrets detection, and vulnerability management.
- Implement and manage cloud security controls covering IAM/RBAC, Entra ID, Key Vault, network security, private endpoints, NSGs, and secure workload configuration.
- Monitor security events, vulnerabilities, configuration risks, and infrastructure anomalies and coordinate remediation with engineering and security teams.
- Support security reviews, compliance requirements, audit activities, and production security assessments.
- Work with development teams to establish secure-by-design deployment and infrastructure patterns.
Client Implementation & Delivery
- Lead or support end-to-end technical implementation of Solytics products across client environments, particularly enterprise and regulated environments.
- Work directly with client infrastructure, DevOps, security, networking, and application teams to understand environment requirements and implementation constraints.
- Own technical activities including environment readiness, infrastructure provisioning, connectivity, deployment, configuration, integrations, security controls, and production go-live.
- Troubleshoot complex implementation and production issues and drive them through resolution with internal and client stakeholders.
- Prepare implementation documentation, deployment guides, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational handover documents.
- Participate in client technical discussions, solution workshops, implementation calls, and production readiness reviews.
Reliability & Observability
- Build observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or equivalent technologies.
- Drive high availability, disaster recovery, reliability, performance, and capacity planning for production systems.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud, Kubernetes, networking, deployment, security, and production issues.
- Participate in RCA/post-incident reviews and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Establish operational standards, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
Engineering Enablement
- Enable engineering teams through self-service infrastructure and standardized deployment patterns.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions to define scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure patterns.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to platform architecture, DevSecOps, and engineering standards.
- Continuously improve automation, deployment processes, infrastructure efficiency, security posture, and operational reliability.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Act as a technical point of contact for DevOps, infrastructure, security, and deployment-related discussions with clients.
- Collaborate effectively across Engineering, QA, Product, Security, Architecture, Support, and client teams.
- Communicate implementation plans, risks, dependencies, incidents, timelines, and technical decisions clearly and proactively.
- Create high-quality technical documentation, implementation plans, architecture notes, runbooks, and incident/RCA reports.
Key Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on DevOps / Cloud / Platform Engineering / SRE experience.
- Strong hands-on production experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong production experience with AKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and managing production infrastructure using Terraform or equivalent IaC.
- Strong CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
- Strong understanding of Linux, networking, DNS, load balancing, TLS, IAM/RBAC, and cloud security.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, SecOps, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and secure software delivery practices.
- Experience with Azure services such as Key Vault, VNets, NSGs, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, Private Endpoints, Azure SQL, Storage, and related cloud services.
- Strong scripting/automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, incident management, and observability.
- Good understanding of SRE, HA/DR, production reliability, and capacity planning.
- Experience in enterprise/client implementations, preferably involving regulated or highly secure environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong Git and Agile/Scrum experience.
