Location : Corporate office, Bengaluru (IBC Knowledge Park)
Reporting to : Lead-Vehicle System Engineer
Team name : Mechanical System Engineering, Vehicle Engineering
About the Team and the Role :
This role is for a Mechanical Systems Engineer who will be responsible for understanding product specifications and translating them to vehicle/component level specifications and assessing the system level and attribute level complexities across interfaces and selecting the course of action that will benefit the vehicle the most.
Responsibilities :
Understanding product specifications and translating them to vehicle and sub system level specifications
Breaking down vehicle attribute and vehicle level specs to module level specs
Provide inputs to VI for layout creation
Assessing the system level and attribute level complexities(trade-off management or solutioning) across interfaces
Creation of benchmark database for respective modules
Concept design generation for interfaces
Act as the feature owner of new tech at Ather
Monitoring specs during development phase and performing impact analysis on attributes when required
Work with the validation team and CFT to ensure component level test cases are performed
Ensure all component level mech related homologation requirements are met
Manage attribute and functional trade-offs during conflicts due to interactions and drive decisions
Drive robust new concept designs for future projects
Participate in the stakeholder meetings throughout development phase and solve system engineering related issues
Responsible for the RCA of module/vehicle level bugs
Take part actively in builds and resolve issues
Experience and Qualifications :
Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent degree
4 to 9 years of work experience preferably with automotive 2Wh/ 4Wh OEM.
Must Have Competencies :
Experience working on any ONE of the following mechanical systems - Chassis, Powertrain, Suspension & brakes, Bodyworks/ lamps
Knowledge of 2wh architecture
In-depth knowledge of 2 wheelers and genuine enthusiasm in the same
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work across cross functions
Adaptability, Flexibility, Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving
Good to Have Competencies :
Work experience in GDnT
Work experience in Vehicle Dynamics
Experience working on Mechanical Systems Design and specification writing
Knowledge of DFMEA and product development life cycle
