As a Staff Engineer, you own technical direction across multiple pods. You lead the system designs that shape how Loop's agentic platform works, drive the initiatives nobody has scoped yet, and stay hands-on in the code where it matters most.

You also build the engineering culture: the standards we hold in review, how we hire, and who we hire. You will work directly with product, GTM, and leadership to translate where the company is going into what engineering builds next.

We hire for end-to-end ownership, product curiosity, and the hunger to raise the bar for everyone around you.

Lead system design across pods: Own the architecture for Loop's highest-impact systems, resolve the hard cross-team tradeoffs, and make sure independent pods build toward one coherent platform rather than three overlapping ones.

Drive new engineering initiatives: Take on the problems that arrive as a vague ambition, define the technical bet, prove it with a prototype, and hand a working foundation to a pod.

Stay hands-on: Write code on the hardest parts. Lead by shipping, not by diagram.

Build the engineering culture: Set the bar for design review, code review, testing, and operational discipline, and mentor senior engineers into people who set that bar themselves.

Own hiring: Identify what roles the org needs and when, shape the interview loop, and run technical interviews for senior and staff hires.

Work with stakeholders: Partner with product, GTM, and leadership to turn business direction into a technical roadmap, and tell them plainly what is expensive and what is not.

8+ years building production systems, including several years as the technical owner of a platform used by multiple teams.

Deep expertise in distributed system architecture. You can design across services, defend the tradeoffs, and see the failure mode two quarters ahead.

A track record of leading design across multiple teams and pulling divergent efforts into a single architecture.

Hands-on depth in AI agentic systems: model APIs, prompt orchestration, tool-calling, evaluation, and agentic data pipelines. You still write the code.

Demonstrated influence on engineering culture and hiring: standards you set, loops you designed, engineers you grew.

Product-first thinking and 0-to-1 experience. You work with product and business stakeholders across functions and geographies, and you judge your work by what customers get.
