L3 Dynatrace Engineer Role Summary The L3 Dynatrace Engineer will be responsible for the advanced implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and operational support of the Dynatrace observability platform. The engineer will work based on the architecture and governance defined by the Dynatrace Architect and ensure successful deployment, integration, monitoring enablement, and ongoing platform stability across production and non-production environments. Key Responsibilities • Deploy, configure, administer, and support Dynatrace SaaS environments across production and non-production landscapes. • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot OneAgents, ActiveGates, extensions, and monitoring components. • Implement Dynatrace configurations based on approved architecture, standards, and security guidelines. • Support onboarding of infrastructure, applications, cloud, Kubernetes, SAP, database, network, and middleware monitoring. • Manage Dynatrace platform health, availability, scalability, performance, and operational stability. ActiveGate and OneAgent Management • Configure and maintain ActiveGates for routing, extensions, synthetic monitoring, cloud integrations, and secure communication. • Troubleshoot OneAgent installation, communication, version compatibility, and telemetry collection issues. • Validate OneAgent-to-ActiveGate and ActiveGate-to-Dynatrace connectivity. • Support high availability, resiliency, and load distribution for ActiveGate deployments.• Perform controlled rollout, upgrade, and rollback of agents and gateways. rnMonitoring Configuration and Enablement • Configure infrastructure, application, cloud, Kubernetes, SAP, database, and service monitoring. • Create and manage management zones, host groups, tags, alerting profiles, dashboards, ownership rules, and maintenance windows. rn• Enable log monitoring, metric collection, distributed tracing, service flow, Smartscape topology, and problem detection. • Configure custom metrics, Dynatrace extensions, APIs, and integrations as per project requirements. • Ensure monitoring coverage aligns with agreed service scope and operational standards. Advanced Troubleshooting and RCA Support rn• Provide L3 support for complex monitoring, observability, integration, and platform issues. • Troubleshoot missing data, incorrect topology, log ingestion failures, alert noise, agent communication failures, and extension errors. rn• Analyze Dynatrace problems, events, Davis AI insights, traces, logs, and metrics to support root cause analysis. rn• Work with application, infrastructure, cloud, SAP, database, and network teams to identify performance bottlenecks. • Drive technical resolution for escalated incidents and major problems. rnSecurity, RBAC, and Access Management rn• Implement Dynatrace RBAC, user groups, permissions, management zones, and access policies. • Support integration with Azure AD / Entra ID, SSO, MFA, BeyondTrust, Saviynt, and enterprise IAM tools. rn• Manage API tokens, service accounts, credential vault usage, and secure access procedures. rn• Ensure privileged access and production operations follow enterprise security guidelines. rn• Support periodic access reviews and compliance evidence collection. rnData Compliance and Governance Implementation rn• Configure data masking, log filtering, sensitive data exclusion, privacy controls, and telemetry governance rules. rn• Implement retention, ingestion control, and telemetry filtering requirements. rn• Validate that PII, financial, customer, and restricted operational data are not exposed through logs, traces, dashboards, alerts, or integrations. rn• Support audit logging, configuration tracking, and evidence preparation for compliance reviews. rn• Ensure data sent to ServiceNow, SIEM, or other downstream systems is controlled and appropriate. rnIntegrations and Automation rn• Configure and support Dynatrace integrations with ServiceNow, Azure, Kubernetes, SAP, APIs, ITSM, notification
