Job Description – MariaDB Administrator (L3)
Position: MariaDB Administrator (L3)
Experience: 6+ Years
Role Type: Production Support / Managed Services / Multi-Project Support
Role Summary
Seeking an experienced MariaDB Administrator (L3) to manage, support, and optimize enterprise MariaDB environments across multiple projects. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, security implementation, and cloud database operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MariaDB databases.
- Manage production, test, DR, and development environments.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing.
- Configure and manage MariaDB replication (Master-Slave / Galera Cluster).
- Perform query optimization, index tuning, and performance troubleshooting.
- Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity utilization.
- Implement database security, user management, and role-based access controls.
- Support database migrations, patching, and version upgrades.
- Troubleshoot database incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Work with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams for project delivery.
- Automate DBA activities using Shell/Python scripting.
- Participate in on-call production support and maintenance activities.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong administration experience in MariaDB 10.x and above.
- Expertise in:
- Installation & Configuration
- Replication Administration
- Galera Cluster Management
- Backup & Recovery (Mariabackup)
- Query Tuning & Optimization
- Index Management
- Performance Monitoring
- User & Security Administration
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery
- Strong Linux Administration knowledge.
- Experience with AWS RDS MariaDB, Azure Database for MariaDB, or equivalent cloud offerings.
- Knowledge of Monitoring Tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, CloudWatch).
- Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python).
