- Design & Development: Design electrical sub-systems, Printed Circuit Boards (PCAs), and electronic hardware for surgical or orthopaedic applications.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct bench testing, PCB bring-up, and performance verification
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, design requirements, and Bill of Materials (BOM) updates.
- Quality & Compliance: Apply FDA, ISO, and medical-industry standards to ensure product safety and quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing teams to bring products from design to production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD tools, such as Altium or OrCAD, and simulation.
- Experience with PCB design and layout.
- Familiarity with orthopaedic instrumentation, joint anatomy, or robotic systems is often preferred.
- Knowledge of analog, digital, RF, and mixed‑signal design
- Understanding of medical device standards (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA/MDR)
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Role
Carries out engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity. Under the general direction of a senior engineer, is responsible for a project or part of a project or operation requiring a thorough knowledge of engineering and related fields (quality control, time and motion studies, etc.). Work is reviewed in detail with guidance given. May give limited technical guidance to junior professionals or technicians working on a common project. Typically has a Bachelor's Degree and one to four years of experience.
