Role

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Management:

   • Identify and evaluate suppliers for power electronics components and systems.
   • Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and budget constraints.
   • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
   • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.

2. Purchase Planning and Coordination:

   • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
   • Develop detailed procurement plans for power electronics projects, ensuring that materials and equipment are ordered in a timely manner.
   • Monitor stock levels and ensure that there is no disruption in the supply of critical components.

3. Cost Management:

   • Ensure that procurement stays within the approved budget for Capex projects.
   • Analyze cost structures and work with vendors to optimize pricing and delivery terms.
   • Approve purchase orders and oversee invoice approvals in line with financial controls.

4. Technical Evaluation and Compliance:

   • Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet the technical specifications required for power electronics systems.
   • Work with the engineering team to conduct technical evaluations of potential suppliers and products.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for power electronics equipment.

5. Project Support:

   • Track and manage the progress of procurement against project timelines to ensure that equipment is delivered and installed as per schedule.
   • Assist in troubleshooting procurement-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
   • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of procured items into the project.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain comprehensive records of all purchase transactions, supplier communications, and delivery schedules.
   • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, project status, and cost control for senior management.
   • Ensure proper documentation of all purchase orders, contracts, and warranties.

7. Risk Management:

   • Identify potential risks related to procurement (e.g., price fluctuations, supply chain disruptions) and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
   • Maintain contingency plans in case of delays or other procurement issues.

8. Continuous Improvement:

   • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
   • Implement best practices in procurement management and stay up-to-date with industry trends in power electronics and supply chain management.
