Senior Engineer

India Nippon Electricals is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative electrical solutions for automotive applications. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading projects from concept through to completion, ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet quality, reliability, and performance standards.

Role

1. Customer Complaint Management
- Receive, analyze, and respond to customer complaints within the agreed timeline.
- Coordinate containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and submit 8D reports, 5-Why analysis, and other customer-required reports.
- Ensure effectiveness verification and obtain customer closure approval.
2. Customer Quality Assurance
- Ensure products meet customer drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Monitor PPM, rejection rates, warranty claims, and field failure trends.
- Establish containment and corrective actions to prevent defective parts reaching customers.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and quality agreements.
3. Customer Audits and Visits
- Plan and coordinate customer audits, assessments, and plant visits.
- Ensure audit readiness, documentation availability, and closure of audit findings.
- Present quality performance, improvement activities, and corrective action status.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to address customer observations.
4. New Product Development (NPD) and Launch Quality
- Review customer quality requirements during new product development.
- Coordinate APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and validation activities, as applicable.
- Ensure process readiness, product validation, traceability, and error-proofing before launch.
- Coordinate safe launch and enhanced inspection until the required approval and stability criteria are met.
5. Cross-Functional and Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Materials, Supplier Quality, R&D, and Marketing.
- Drive supplier corrective actions for customer-related component issues.
- Ensure defective material segregation, replacement, traceability, and disposition.
- Monitor action owners and timelines until effective closure.
6. Quality Performance and Continuous Improvement
- Track customer PPM, complaints, rejection costs, warranty, and repeat failures.
- Prepare monthly quality performance reports and management reviews.
- Identify recurring issues and implement horizontal deployment across similar products and processes.
- Drive lessons learned, defect prevention, and continual improvement initiatives.
