Job Title : Manual Test Engineer

OSI Digital is looking for a skilled Manual Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in functional testing and API testing. The ideal candidate should be proficient in requirements analysis, test design, test execution, defect reporting, and API validation using tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.

The candidate must be capable of working independently in an Agile environment, coordinating directly with clients and project stakeholders, clarifying business requirements, and delivering testing activities within agreed timelines. Good communication, analytical thinking, and ownership of assigned deliverables are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to understand expected application behavior.

• Identify requirement gaps, ambiguities, and dependencies, and proactively obtain clarifications from Business Analysts, Developers, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Design, review, and maintain comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, test data, and requirements traceability.

• Perform manual functional, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing of applications.

• Design and execute positive, negative, boundary, and exception-handling scenarios for APIs.

• Perform defect retesting and regression testing to ensure that fixes do not introduce unintended side effects.

• Execute assigned testing activities within agreed timelines while maintaining expected quality standards.

• Work effectively in Agile/Scrum teams, participate in sprint ceremonies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Communicate directly with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, discuss defects, provide testing updates, and manage expectations.

• Provide regular status reports covering testing progress, completed activities, pending work, blockers, risks, and defects.

• Use Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools to manage test activities, defects, and project work items.

• Leverage AI tools to support test case generation, requirements analysis, test data identification, and test documentation, with appropriate manual validation.

• Maintain basic awareness of test automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright and identify suitable opportunities for automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Manual Functional Testing — Mandatory

• Strong hands-on experience in manual testing of web-based or enterprise applications.

• Excellent understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.

• Ability to design and execute test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, and end-to-end workflows.

• Experience in functional, integration, and regression testing.

2. Requirements Analysis and Test Design — Mandatory

• Strong ability to understand business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Experience identifying requirement gaps, dependencies, and ambiguities.

• Ability to seek timely clarifications and translate requirements into effective test coverage.

• Experience preparing test scenarios, detailed test cases, and test data.

3. Defect Management — Mandatory

• Experience logging clear, reproducible defects with appropriate evidence and expected versus actual results.

• Ability to assess defect severity, support prioritization, retest fixes, and perform regression testing.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

4. Agile Delivery and Client Communication — Mandatory

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned testing deliverables.

• Confidence in interacting directly with clients and project stakeholders.

• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, team coordination, and customer service orientation.

• Ability to provide clear, timely status updates and escalate risks or blockers proactively.

5. Test and Project Management Tools

• Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project and defect management tools.

• Familiarity with test management, defect tracking, and requirements traceability practices.

Preferred Skills

• Basic exposure to UI automation using Selenium or Playwright.

• Experience using AI tools to assist with test case design, test documentation, test data generation, and testing analysis.

• Basic understanding of SQL queries and database validation.

• Exposure to CI/CD processes and software release cycles.
