Quality Assurance Lead - Data & AI

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer with 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation, and Data Validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise-grade applications and data platforms. Exposure to Databricks-based data engineering environments is preferred. The role requires strong expertise in test planning, automation frameworks, API testing, database validation, defect management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for web, data, and enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks to improve testing efficiency and release quality.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Validate data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality across source and target systems.
• Work closely with Developers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
• Execute database testing using SQL and validate data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools while ensuring timely resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated test suites into deployment workflows.
• Perform performance, scalability, and reliability testing where required.
• Validate data processing workflows on Databricks platforms and ensure end-to-end data quality (preferred).
• Prepare test reports, quality metrics, and release readiness assessments for stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• Strong expertise in test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or SoapUI.
• Good understanding of SQL, database testing, and ETL/data validation concepts.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Preferred experience in Databricks environments and data warehouse testing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within distributed teams.
